I can't believe the dairy industry is using this argument to try to "stick it to" the soy/almond/rice/hemp milk industry. The link below takes you to the National Milk Producers Federation's page about their push to make non-dairy milks change their terminology and packaging.

They actually argue that Americans cannot tell the difference between soy milk and cows milk because its the same color, shown being used on cereal and labeled as a "great alternative to milk".
How dumb do they think we are?
Exhibit A: Rice Dream rice milk. Clearly labeled "non-dairy alternative to milk made from rice". Also, it's kept in the regular aisles many times and not refrigerated, that should give the consumer a clue!
Exhibit B: Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourment Cheese Alternative. It also clearly states "dairy free".
This is clearly just a silly way for the Dairy Industry to try to impose costs on the dairy alternatives industry. So ridiculous.
Now excuse me while I go eat some cereal with NON DAIRY rice milk on top :)
